It Wasn't A Crime, It Was A Strategy

In case you missed the President's speech this evening, here is a summary:

"September 11, 2001."

{Pause}

"Well, enough about that. Let's talk about my failed foreign policy."

My favorite line was "If we yield Iraq to men like bin Laden, our enemies will be emboldened; they will gain a new safe haven; they will use Iraq's resources to fuel their extremist movement."

Oo that was crafty of you, getting Haliburton in there early to siphon off as many of those dangerous resources as possible.

The only resource Iraq seems to be rich in anymore is hatred. And poverty.

Ah, hatred, a renewable resource.

And don't forget bullets. Iraq has a rich resource of blowupable commodities and potent potables.

I believe that in the original draft of the speech, the line was:

"If we allow men like bin Laden to remain free, ..."

But luckily someone caught that in time.

When I first read that quote from the speech (didn't watch or listen to it, or ma nrain would turn to goo) I read "embolden" as "embiggin" and thought, "Wow, the president is using a perfectly crumulent word."

The transcript has errors in it. George W Bush has never in his life said the word 'nuclear'. It's 'nucular'. Duh.

My favourite line was "......a radical Islamic empire where women are prisoners in their homes, men are beaten for missing prayer meetings.....". Funnily enough that's true in Iraq now, though it wasn't before Bush invaded it. He must be very proud to be doing bin LAden's work for him.

"......a radical Islamic empire where women are prisoners in their homes, men are beaten for missing prayer meetings.....".

Take out the word "Islamic" and you have a TBN telecast.

Question, Mr. Decider: Does the pro-life movement consider women prisoners of the State? Also, will I be beaet up for missing your next prayer meeting when you out a popular TV cartoon character, like, say, Senator Zell Miller?

"STAY THE COURSE"

He must be VERY good at typing that by now.

We have nothing to fear but Bush himself...

I was actually extremely proud of Bush for his speech. I mean, he went just over five minutes without bringing up Iraq. That HAS to be a new record for him! I'm glad he practiced so long to at least make the first couple minutes of his speech remotely along the lines of what should have been said.

Wait, what's that you say? The site of 9/11 still doesn't even have the beginnings of a memorial? That MUST be Clinton's fault!

"Stay the course." Isn't that what the crew of the Titanic did?

Then again, we're on the Hindenburg. My mistake.

And of course, any disaster or failure on Bush's part 5 years into his presidency is Clinton's fault. Isn't it obvious. I read it on free "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" pamphlet I received at James Dobson's stag party.

Yours in Christ ...
